My training has allowed me to know the creative process, to hone my artistic skills (art history, creativity and problem solving, visual design elements, technical materials, career exploration in art profession), appreciate works and meet artists and artisans. This training led me to develop a work artisanal cabinet composed of original works rather than copying or repetition. The education I received I also suggested overtaking in the job well done.
With respect to my company Essence Wood, I set as homework, offer design services and production of works of high aesthetic quality. Some of them are against the trend in our consumer society and respect for the environment is a noticeable echo in my cabinetmaker universe. This concern influences my choice of materials (certified FSC wood, water-based finishing products, non-toxic for the environment …). Buy as much as possible locally and my creations are made from natural materials whose exploitation does not exhaust the resources, in order to minimize environmental impact.
I also have in my production of other products made from recycled materials delivered in the production cycle instead of going in the trash. For many years, I am involved in various social causes and I like improving the quality of life in my community.
My training is over; I invest in continuing education, interested in the recognition of quality standards in woodworking and the promotion and enhancement of the trade by publications and see to the transmission of my knowledge.
